In 2020, I had the chance to be part of a small team at Blabjorn Games where we created "My Only Bear," a match-3 mobile game. Our team included the product owner, two talented Unity developers, and me as the designer/illustrator. The game is all about a lovable bear that players get to guide through enchanting environments by solving puzzles and unlocking new areas.
My primary responsibilities included:
I created illustrations for the game, including the bear's adventures and iconic locations, and designed Polaroid-style images to enhance the narrative and provide visual rewards for players.
I created dynamic video gameplay intros for social media, showcasing the game's mechanics and inviting players to join the adventure.
I made bright marketing images for social media to promote the game, highlighting gameplay and special features.
After six months of development, My Only Bear was successfully launched. However, due to insufficient marketing investment, the game struggled to gain visibility and generate revenue for ongoing development. The project did not continue beyond the launch phase, but I gained invaluable experience in collaboration, design under constraints. This project was a memorable chapter in my career.
